Description
Our customer, the Defense Informion Systems Agency (DISA), provides, operes, and assures command and control of the Defense Informion System Network (DISN) services to its customers, the department of Defense (DoD) and nional security organizions. This position directly supports the DISA-provided capabilities and services.
The Leidos Digital Modernizion Sector/Global Solutions Management-Operions II (GSMO-II) contract Leidos is seeking an experienced Network Sytems Engineer to provide network operions and engineering sustainment support to a mission critical IP messaging and communicions transport network. A successful candide will develop an understanding of the services offered to external organizions, provide lifecycle systems engineering support to development and operions on the program, and use a combinion of technical and functional expertise to recommend solutions to sisfy customer requirements.
Primary Responsibilities:
Network integrion, testing, security engineering, and implemention configurion support.
Collabore with network architects to define and/or continuously improve STIG compliant configurion baselines, versioning, and compliance tracking.
Test and valide automion and best practice insertion opportunities.
Lead development of SOPs/TTPs.
Support Continuous Service Improvements (CSI).
Support system performance tuning and enhancements.
Cree and maintain Engineering Implemention Plans (EIP).
Support tier escalion of incident management support tasks.
Active participion in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for Problem Management activities.
Participe in engineering meetings to bridge the gap between operions and engineering providing operional readiness for new solutions projected to be deployed into production.
Perform highly technical maintenance involving firewalls, VPNs, IPS, and load balancers.
Provide expert knowledge of network engineering and operions, large scale enterprise network solution implemention and transition to Network Operions, as well as test and evaluion activities. Perform highly technical maintenance involving network devices routers, switches, security solutions, and WANX.
Core Qualificions:
Active DoD clearance the Top-Secret level with SCI eligibility
Security+ Certificion or other DOD 8570 IAT Lvl II Certificion within a certain timeframe after starting if not starting with one when hired.
Extensive knowledge of defense-in-depth principles, Network and Security architecture, network topology, IT device integrity, and common security elements.
4+ years’ experience engineering and troubleshooting networks, including extensive routing and switching experience such as one or more of the following: MPLS, VPNs, routing protocols i.e. BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, switching protocols i.e. Spanning Tree Protocol, VLANs, LLDP, VoIP, Multicast protocols and emerging network technologies.
Strong understanding and in-depth knowledge of IP network/subnet addressing.
Experienced and adept developing and maintaining technical documents, analyses, and reports.Experience developing and presenting technical informion to senior customer management, customer stakeholders, and company management.
Hands-on experience deploying, configuring and troubleshooting Cisco enterprise network routing, switching and firewall/security devices.
Ability to travel up to 10% OCONUS travel.
Effective written and oral communicion and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualificions:
Extensive SME level knowledge of network engineering and operions, integrion, test and evaluion activities, as well as implemention and transition to Network Operions processes and concepts
Cisco CCNP Route/Switch and/or CCNP Security
Experience and with and practical understanding of enterprise WAN principles.
Experience with change, configurion and performance management NetOps concepts.
IAT Level III Certificion (i.e. CISSP or equivalent).
Required Educion & Experience:
Requires BS and 4-8 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 2-6 years of prior relevant experience. (Or equivalent combinion of educion and/or experience.)
