These have been stored in climate controlled, smoke-free home.
• 2 ea Maxell 60 min. normal bias cassettes
• 1 Maxell 60 min high bias cassette
• 1 Sony 90 min normal bias cassette
• 3 ea TDK 90 min normal bias cassettes
* Bonus: 1 ea 3M, Scotch C-60, normal bias, low noise cassette, but not new and has audible "stuff" recorded on it.
During my working years I had the privilege of testing magnetic tape quality from several companies including Ampex, Sony, 3M, and BASF. In my opinion, when 3M was making magnetic tape, they made some of the best quality recording media in the world. Not only did 3M tape have low dropout performance but it also had very low abrasion which extends the life of your recording heads.
One other tip: Most magnetic tape will actually perform better as it ages, as long as it is kept in a climate controlled environment.
