Vintage Natural Oval Blue Sapphire Fashion Ring - $1,000.00; size 8.
Natural oval cut sapphire is approximately 0.97 ct. 14KT yellow gold twisted rope setting; total ring weight = 2.30 grams; stamped/signed = "14K" and "EL". This was not created in a lab, and is in pre-owned/pre-loved condition. See photos for condition and further description.
This was purchased in the late 80's/early 90's and was appraised at $1,245 in 2010 (an informal appraisal in July 2021 valued this at $1,568.70). It's my understanding that rubies, emeralds and sapphires hold their value better than other gemstones and the price of gold has increased. Ring box not included. I searched Rubylane.com and other similar sites that sell vintage jewelry to come up with my selling price.
Sapphire is a gemstone associated with royalty and is the birthstone for the month of September. It is believed to attract abundance, blessings, and gifts. It has been used to protect against negative energies, as well as calm the mind, strengthen intuition, and invite spiritual clarity. Sapphire has a connection to romance and is often used in engagement rings. Blue sapphire in particular has a connection to the throat chakra, and can be used to enhance self-expression. It is said to help you become more aware of your own responsibility for your thoughts and feelings; and is said to enhance your integrity and wisdom. In feng shui, dark blue is connected to knowledge and self-cultivation.
