Oval faceted cut amethyst in a 10K yellow gold ribbed step ring mounting; total ring weight = 2.22 grams. The amethyst measures approximately 9mm x 12 mm. This is in pre-owned/pre-loved condition. See photos for condition and further description. This could make a nice gift for someone.
This was purchased in the 2005-2007 timeframe. I searched Rubylane.com and other similar sites that sell vintage jewelry to come up with my selling price.
Amethyst is said to be a powerful and protective stone, guarding against psychic attack, transmuting the energy into love and protecting the wearer from all types of harm, including geopathic or electromagnetic stress and ill wishes from others. As a natural tranquillizer, it relieves stress and strain, soothes irritability, balances mood swings, dispels anger, rage, fear and anxiety. It is said to encourage sobriety, having a sobering effect on overindulgence of alcohol, drugs or other addictions; and apparently assists in remembering and understanding dreams. It is the birthstone for the month of February.
