Antique stork clamp - $200 (Crownsville)

Antique midwife's umbilical stork clamp. 5" tall. These are very rare and used by midwives to help in baby delivery in the 1800s. When open, a tiny swaddled baby sucking thumb can be seen inside. Made of probably brass or silver-clad although we can't find a maker's mark (needs to be polished).
